Lucas’s first post on his own blog! (October 23)

Note: For years of we’ve been writing stuff on Lucas’s blog… but now he’s taking over!  Well, maybe not permanently, but given that he now has the capacity to write out his own stories, email messages, and poems, it makes sense to publish some of them here.  Lucas agreed, and he wrote an introduction to present a few of the many poems he wrote over the summer:

Lucas, you are so talented! I love the ones about your mom (she does twirl a lot) and about the leptoceratops not eating meat or wearing pants! I believe that is my new favorite dinosaur.
Keep writing, it keeps us smiling.
with all my love, the end.

Lucas your poems are the best.
With happiness they make swell my chest.
You look so debonair
And when I get there
We’ll snippy snip clip trim cut your hair!

We love your poems Lucas! We hope sometime when we visit we will get to hear you recite them in person. We are not regular poem writers, but you inspired us to try to write a poem for you:

Lucas is a pretty cool boy
He write poems for all to enjoy
To his sister Ida he’s always sweet
He has a smile for everyone he meets
That’s why seeing Lucas is a joy

Lucas, all the poems are about dinosaurs and one about mommy. Does she remind you of a dinosaur. Powerful, vegetable eating best friend?

Thank you for writing these and letting us read them. I love the idea of kids writing blogs. I hope that by sending you this note, you will let me know when you post more poems, thoughts or stories. We have not met, I am a friend of your father. But I sometimes see his posts about you on facebook. I just don’t want to miss your future blog entrees.
