Mushroom Hunting! (Oct. 5)
Aunt Megan was in town this last week and we took advantage to go on two separate mushroom hunting adventures. The first one was right near our house — on the path down to Lake Washington. The second one was on a new section of one of our favorite paved, wheelchair accessible, nature trails — the Preston-Fall City trail. Here’s what Lucas had to say about it:
Mushroom Hunting
Today we went to Fall City looking for mushrooms
We went with my aunt Megan.
We found a LOT of mushrooms.
We found some edible ones and some non-edible ones.
We found a non-edible Bitter Bolete and edible Puff Balls
Unfortunately we didn’t find any chanterelles or others that we could just bring home and throw in our pasta. But we did find at least a dozen different kinds of mushrooms, a perfect fall adventure.
